RES PROJECTS

The interventions included in REIS project target the increase of the use of Renewable Energy Sources’ technologies and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) within the community of Alexandroupolis. The interventions will be implemented at buildings that house social services in the region of Alexandroupolis. The buildings and the interventions that are included in the project are:

  • Solar thermal heating and domestic hot water system in B’ KAPI Alexandroupolis
  • Geothermal heat pump system for heating and domestic hot water in A’ Nursery School
  • Heat pump for heating and domestic hot water as well as 5 kWp autonomous PV system for B’ Nursery School
  • Heat pump for heating and domestic hot water as well as 12.5 kWp autonomous PV system for Z’ Nursery School
  • Geothermal heat pump system for heating and domestic hot water in B’ Nursery School of Feres
  • Biomass boiler for heating and domestic hot water as well as 5 kWp autonomous PV charging station for “Polydynamo” Culture Center
  • Biomass boiler for heating and domestic hot water, solar thermal system, as well as 5 kWp autonomous PV system for “Agios Kyprianos’” building
  • Biomass boiler for heating and domestic hot water for A’ KAPI Alexandroupolis

This demonstration project constitutes a step forward for the improvement of the utilisation of RES technologies in public buildings and it is in line with the Sustainable Energy Action Plan of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis. It is expected to contribute to the renewable energy production by 927,69 MWh/year, as well as reduce CO2 emissions by 228,17 tn/year.
